Summer 2025 Graduation Timeline and Information
| July 11 | Census Date for Summer 2025 – deny Spring 2025 graduation to remaining students with audits not equal to 100%. |
| Automated Graduation Preclearance Reports – Bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 8 am | Graduation Services emails preclearance reports to academic departments to review students with an audit percentage less than 98% or equal to 99% |
| July 1 | Last day to apply for Summer graduation @ 11:59 pm |
| INITIAL REVIEW May 27 through July 8 | Graduation Services sends an email to students confirming receipt of the graduation application and instructions to review their DegreeWorks audit. Students with an audit at 98% or 100% degree completion are considered pre-cleared for graduation. Students with an audit NOT at 98% or 100% require further review and consultation with an advisor. At this time, all substitution/waivers should be submitted by academic departments in order to meet degree clearance. |
| COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW July 18 | The awarding period for students with audits at 100%. |
| FINAL REVIEW & DEGREE AWARDING August 12 | Grades Due |
| August 18 – August 28 | Awarding period for students with audits at 100%. |
| August 14 | Graduation Services will send an email out to the students whose audits are not at 100% and recommend consultation with their advisors. This gives students time to register for Fall 2025 before the add/drop date (August 25). |
| August 15 | Deadline for submission of approved grades for incompletes, education abroad, and official transcripts for transient study. |
| August 29 | Census Date for Fall 2025 – deny Summer 2025 graduation to remaining students with audits not equal to 100%. |

Automated Preclearance Report Distribution
Graduation Preclearance Reports are sent bi-weekly on Tuesdays via email.
Email graduation@charlotte.edu with any questions or to request individuals added or removed from these monthly reports.
Graduation Preclearance Report Instructions
This report may be run on demand via Report Central, under the DegreeWorks tab.
Log in to Report Central using your NinerNet Credentials (Need Access? Click here for instructions on requesting access to Report Central.)
- Select the Student (v9 Migrated Tabs) Portal
- Click on DegreeWorks in the navigation menu on the left
- Select the report, Undergraduate Preclearance
- Specify the Term, College, Major, and select Report Output = Excel
- Click the Submit button to run the report
If a substitution or waiver is needed, please submit it as soon as possible by Academic Petition.
Encourage students to update their graduation application to a future term if they are not on track for graduation in the current term.
- 98%-Students are on track, pending registered courses.
- 99%-Students are either short overall or major/minor hours, below a 2.0 overall or major/minor GPA, have not met the residency requirement, or have incomplete grades.
- Less than 98%-Students are missing a requirement, please check the following areas: general education, college, major, minor, concentration or University honors.
- University Honors or College/Department Honors – 97% or less may still be on track for honors students. Check the audit to confirm that the Honors Candidacy requirement is the ONLY outstanding requirement not ‘in-progress’.
